ASCF has partnered with local universities to offer clinical social work field placements and internships for advanced students seeking careers in mental health-related fields. We also host an APA-accredited predoctoral psychology internship and psychology post-doctoral student each year.

Clinical Social Work Field Placement

ASCF is committed to evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices that embrace the whole child within the many systems within which he/she functions in order to facilitate healthy family outcomes. In pursuit of these efforts, multidisciplinary service providers at ASCF meet through weekly case conferences and team meetings to collaborate on innovative, creative ways to improve the trajectory of families involved with the child welfare system. ASCF staff also regularly engage families and other service providers involved with clients to educate about trauma and its impact on child and family functioning and encourage collaboration toward meeting child and family goals.

Master Level Clinical Social Work Practicum students will be offered the opportunity to enhance clinical skills through therapy and evaluation, participate in specialty trauma trainings, utilize and interpret standardized assessment measures, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, engage systems in a child’s care, participate in research & data collection, and facilitate advocacy at the local, state, and national level.
